RETURNS, EXCHANGES & REFUNDS
Returns
We understand that it is difficult to buy jewellery online without touching it or trying it on, which is why we offer a returns, exchanges & refunds policy. If there is a problem with your order for any reasons, please provide us with a notification within 5 days of receiving your item(s) describing the problem and whether you would like to return or exchange to: info@handpickedlove.co.uk with your full name, e-mail address, order number, and we will get back to you within 24 hours. Under the Distance Selling Regulations, you have 14 days after purchase to return your item(s). All returns must be unworn and in their original condition and packaging otherwise we may not be able to process your refund.
Please Note: In the interest of hygiene, we do not offer exchanges or refunds on pierced earrings unless they are faulty.
Refunds
Once we have contacted you about the problem we will then need to receive the item(s) back before we can re-credit your account or send out your replacement item. If you are returning the item(s) because of an error on our part, we will be happy to refund the shipping charges. Otherwise you will be responsible for those charges. We cannot be held responsible if a parcel gets lost in the post so we recommend you send parcels by recorded delivery to ensure they reach us quickly and safely. Once we have received your item(s), we will then refund to your account, this will be the same account or card that you made the purchase with. Please allow 5-10 working days for the money to be re-credited. This depends on your back account or credit card company.
Please Note: Unfortunately All Sale Items are non refundable, however, we would be happy to offer an exchange or credit note.
Exchanges
If you would like to exchange your purchase for something of the same price, then include in your e-mail which item you require and we will simply send this out you once we have received your item(s) back.
If you have any further questions about returns or exchanges, please contact us at: info@handpickedlove.co.uk
CARE AND REPAIR OF JEWELLERY
You can keep your jewels in good condition by keeping them out of direct sunlight, ensuring that perfume, deodorant or other types of body sprays/creams are not applied directly on to them and by taking them off when you bath/shower.
Vintage Brass, Bronze or Gold-Plated
To keep your brass and bronze items looking super duper shiny, simply dab a tiny splash of brass cleaner on a duster cloth and give your items a little rub from time to time.
Silver-Plated
To keep your silver-plated pieces looking super duper shiny, simply do the same but with Silver Polish (use very delicately) on a duster cloth and give your items a little rub from time to time.
Pearl
Pearls can stay looking their best for generations, but if they’re not looked after properly then unfortunately they can be damaged beyond repair.
They can be scratched by sharp metal or stones, will break down if they’re exposed to relatively common chemicals and even dry out which turns them brown and dull. The good news is that it’s very easy to look after them properly. You just have to adhere to these simple guidelines and they’ll stay as beautiful as the day you bought them.
There are some who say that it’s vital to only use approved pearl cleaning kits. These can be found at most good jewellers or online. However, we’ve found that a quick soak and wipe down with a low concentration of mild washing up liquid in water works well. We’ve never damaged our pearls with this tried and tested method and it’s also what a lot of our farmers tend to do to clean them after they’re removed from their shell. The other benefit is that this brightens the silk that can get dirty over time.
Semi Precious Stones
When wearing semi precious stones it is recommended to avoid water, harsh cleaners and chemicals.
